I believe we need to live a life full of awareness in order to achieve a sense of calmness, gratitude and overall well-being. Life is hard, pain is a part of it, but how we choose to deal with it, makes all the difference. We cannot control many events in life, but we can control how to interpret them, and most importantly, how to react to them.
My Core Belief
Experiences happen to us, but they do not define us.
Our thoughts are not always facts, especially thoughts that come from others. We need to practice the muscle of mindfulness meditation, the muscle of intentionally focusing our attention in order to cultivate the ability to pause between life events, to allow space between our experiences and our response.
Attention is control. This control gives us the power to decide how we want to interpret a situation and how we want to respond.
This power is freedom.
